A brief for your logo or design job

Pick what you need (a logo, a brand, a label, print, advertising, photos or video) and answer the questions about it. At the end you get a brief you can hand to us or to any designer.

Answer what you know. Anything left empty stays in the brief as an open point.

1. What you need
What needs designing

One brief, one job. Write a second brief for a second job.

2. What you do and for whom
3. About the job

Pick what you need in the first step, and the questions about it appear here.

How the brief is put together

Your answers become a brief with numbered points: the job, the business, the details of the kind of design you picked, where it will be used, what exists already, examples, print, the deadline and the files you want at the end. For a brand kit the list follows the full kit: logo versions, colours in HEX, RGB and CMYK, typefaces with their licences and Cyrillic, templates. Everything happens in your browser.

QUESTIONS

What people ask

What goes into a logo brief?

What you do and for whom, what the mark says, where it will be used, what you have already, examples you like and dislike, the deadline and who signs off. The questionnaire asks exactly that.

How long does a logo take?

At T&B Technology a new mark takes five working days. We confirm the timing of your job after the first call.

Do I need to know what I want?

No. It is enough to know where the design will be used and what you do not like. Examples help more than descriptions.

Which files should I get at the end?

For a logo: vector files (AI, EPS or SVG), a PDF for print and PNG for screens, plus the source files. Without the source files every later change goes back through the same supplier.
