We design the boxes for three light bulbs of 8, 11 and 20 W: black packaging with an insect that comes off, goes on the wall and glows in the dark.

CONTEXT

Each of the three bulbs, of 8, 11 and 20 W, gets its own box and its own insect. The black finish gives the packaging a refined look and sets it apart from the white bulb boxes usually seen in shops.

The top of each box reads LIGHT BULB. Below it, a ring holds the wattage, printed in a different colour for each bulb, with the colour of the light underneath. The front carries a macro photograph of the insect, once in black and white and once in colour, the colour one outlined with a dashed line. That insect comes off the box, goes on the wall and glows in the dark, which catches the eye of children and adults alike. A table on the side lists the bulb’s specifications.
