Types of labels
and their use
Labels for the food industry
Labels should serve not only to identify the product, but also to provide essential information about it (weight, composition, shelf life, etc.).
Labels for direct contact with food
There are cases in which the labels are applied directly to the finished product. This requires the materials, adhesives and inks to meet certain food safety requirements.
Labels for the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries
The labels together with the packaging aim to create a feeling of good physical condition, health and a positive effect. They meet strict requirements for durability, resilience and safety.
Labels with different industrial application
Most often, these are synthetic labels with permanent adhesive, which is specially designed to adhere to difficult surfaces, resistant to temperature fluctuations and a number of chemicals and substances.
For their production specialized high quality materials are used combined with a wide range of finishing processes: hot stamping, embossing, holographic effects, heat-sensitive inks and more.
No–label look labels ("invisible" labels)
Bar code labels
Barcodes are one of the safest ways to transmit machine-readable information. With the help of barcode identification, the movement of goods from their receipt in the warehouse to the end user can be traced.
QR code labels
The QR code is a specific matrix barcode, recognizable by cameras on mobile phones. Once scanned, it can take the user to a web page, video or provide him with complete information, contacts and addresses of a company.

Types of packaging
and their use
Paper and Cardboard packaging
Cardboard is a paper-based material that is light but strong at the same time. Cardboard packaging is available in different classes, each suitable for different packaging requirements.
SBS cardboard (or solid bleached sulfate) can be used for packaging cosmetics, medicines, milk and juices, frozen foods and more.
Kraft paper is less resistant to moisture, which makes it a little less suitable for the food industry. The choice of kraft paper is for those who prefer the natural and environmentally friendly recycled paper.
With the proper use of cardboard packaging, the product can have a high quality appearance, but at the same time be low cost.
Plastic is used in a wide range of products, from spacecrafts to paper clips.
Plastic box packs have many advantages. They are recyclable and are usually much more durable than cardboard boxes. Plastic packaging does not break easily and can store food in extreme conditions.
Another reason why plastic is a popular choice is the ability to demonstrate the product from any angle without necessarily opening the package.
Hermetic plastic packages help maintain food quality. Plastic is very cost-effective, but it also pollutes nature through improper recycling.
Durable cardboard packaging (luxurious)
Have you ever wondered what type of boxes they use to pack an iPhone or luxury products like Rolex, Tiffany & Co and Marc Jacobs. You have the feeling that this is a type of cardboard, but you are still not sure because of its durable, first-class appearance.
This type of packaging is called a Rigid Box. The hard box is made of highly condensed cardboard, which is 4 times thicker than the cardboard used in the construction of a standard folding cardboard.
Compared to other types of boxes, Rigid boxes are definitely among the most expensive types. They are usually handmade.
These boxes are commonly used in merchandising cosmetics, jewelry, technology and luxury high-end fashion.
Aluminum sealed packaging
Aluminum foil is often found in most packages of coffee and tea. Why? The foil keeps the products thick to maintain the aroma, protects the product from bacteria and helps to increase the shelf life.
In addition to food, aluminum foil is also used for wrapping bed linen and clothes. Nuts, grains, smoked fish, cheese and dried meats are packed in aluminum sealed bags to prevent spoilage.
The process involves removing oxygen from the bag to preserve the product and prevent the growth of fungi and other bacteria.
Chipboard packaging is used in industries such as electronics, medicine, food and cosmetics.
Chipboard is a type of cardboard that is made of regenerated paper. It can be easily cut, folded and shaped. This is a cost-effective option for packaging your products. It is available in different densities and strengths and is defined by how high the density of the material is.
If you want your images to be printed directly on chipboard, it can be treated with bleaching sulfate and CCNB (Clay Coating), which makes the material even more durable.
Chipboard packaging is not recommended for your business if you are dealing with heavy objects, as chipboard is a lightweight material made for many foods such as cereals, biscuits, tissue boxes, etc. In addition, if the storage medium is saturated with moisture, chipboard can easily weaken and lead to discoloration and expansion.
