**What an online store costs in Bulgaria in 2026: prices in euro for the build, the monthly costs after launch, what the law requires and the questions to ask before you sign.**

“How much does an online store cost?” has two answers. The first is what it costs to build. The second, often left out, is what the store costs every month once it is running. Here are both, in euro and excluding VAT.

In short: building an online store in Bulgaria usually costs **between €1,300 and €6,000**. A store connected to a warehouse, accounting or another system reaches **€10,000 and up**. After launch come hosting, payment fees, maintenance and advertising. They are a separate monthly budget.

## Typical build prices in 2026

The ranges are market figures, collected from the published price guides of Bulgarian studios for 2026. Our own starting prices are on the [Pricing](https://tnb-tech.com/en/services/pricing/) page.

![Chart of market prices for an online store in 2026, excl. VAT. Build: small store €1,300 to €2,500, standard store €2,500 to €6,000, store connected to other systems €6,000 to €10,000, own platform or B2B store over €10,000. Separately, every month: maintenance €50 to €250, advertising and SEO from €150.](https://tnb-tech.com/img/blog/kolko-struva-onlayn-magazin/ceni-magazin-2026-en-1200.webp)

| What kind of store | Typical market price | What is usually included |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Small store (shop window) | €1,300 – €2,500 | Up to a few hundred products, a basket, card payment and cash on delivery, one courier |
| Standard store | €2,500 – €6,000 | Variants (size, colour), filters, discounts, several delivery options, a product feed for Google |
| Store connected to other systems | €6,000 – €10,000 | Stock and prices from a warehouse or accounting system, automatic shipping labels and invoices |
| Own platform or B2B store | over €10,000 | Prices per customer, a login for trade buyers, logic of its own |

With us, an online store starts at **€2,500 excl. VAT**. We give the final quote once we know the full scope: how many products you have, where they come from and what has to happen to an order.

### What about Shopify?

Ready-made platforms such as Shopify cost less to start: their smallest plan is about €25–€35 a month, and a studio set-up is most often €500–€1,500. But you pay every month for as long as the store exists, and you add monthly apps for everything the platform does not do itself. You also depend on what the platform allows. For a small store with no connections to other systems, it is a sensible choice. When the products come from a warehouse and prices differ from customer to customer, the sums turn the other way.

## What drives the price

Eight things move the figure. Each can push it up or bring it down.

1. **How many products you have, and where they come from.** A hundred products typed in by hand and ten thousand fed in from another system are two different jobs.
2. **Variants.** A shoe in six sizes and three colours is 18 combinations, each with its own stock. A clothes store is more complex than a bookstore with the same number of products.
3. **Payment.** Cash on delivery, cards through a [payment gateway](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/payment-gateway/), Apple Pay and Google Pay. Each method is its own set-up and its own contract.
4. **Delivery.** One courier or several, to an address, an office or a locker. The biggest difference is whether the [shipping label](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/shipping-label/) is created from the order automatically or someone retypes it by hand.
5. **Connections to other systems.** Warehouse, accounting, invoicing, ERP. Each connection is a job of its own. That is also the most common reason a store costs €6,000 rather than €2,500.
6. **Languages and markets.** Selling to other EU countries means translation, separate addresses and often a different VAT scheme ([OSS](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/vat-one-stop-shop/)).
7. **Design.** A ready-made template with your logo, or a design made for your product.
8. **Content and deadline.** Product photos and descriptions are often not in the price. If we make them, that is a separate line in the quote. The normal deadline is in the price. If the store has to be ready in half the time, the price doubles.

## What the store costs every month

The build is paid once. The costs below stay for as long as the store runs.

| Cost | How much | Note |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Domain (.bg or .com) | €10 – €30 a year | It must be in your name |
| Hosting | €50 – €150 a year for a small store, €300 – €600 a year for a server with more traffic | The store’s speed starts here |
| Card payment fees | about 1.5–3% of the amount plus a small fixed fee | For example, Stripe charges 1.5% + €0.25 for a standard European card |
| Courier | under your contract with the courier | Cash on delivery is charged too |
| Maintenance | €50 – €250 a month on the market | With us, [maintenance](https://tnb-tech.com/en/services/website-maintenance/) starts at €100 a month, with no minimum term |
| Advertising and SEO | from €150 – €300 a month and up | Separately: the management fee and the advertising budget |

A store does not show itself. If nobody finds it, it is just a cost. That is why the first year’s budget should include advertising. With us, SEO starts at €300 a month and Google Ads management at €500 a month. The advertising budget is agreed separately, according to your goals.

## What the law requires of an online store

This is not optional. The store must have it from day one, and the supplier should have included it in the price.

- **[Ordinance N-18](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/n-18-ordinance/).** The store is declared to the National Revenue Agency before the first sale. Which receipt regime applies to you is your accountant’s call.
- **[Terms and conditions](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/online-shop-terms-and-conditions/) and [the right of withdrawal](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/right-of-withdrawal/).** A customer can return an order within 14 days without giving a reason.
- **[Withdrawal button](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/withdrawal-button/).** From 19 June 2026, withdrawing from a contract must be as easy as placing the order: a visible button and a short confirmation.
- **[The price before a discount](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/eu-omnibus-directive/).** With every struck-through price, the store shows the lowest price of the last 30 days.
- **[Accessibility](https://tnb-tech.com/en/glossary/european-accessibility-act/).** From 28 June 2025, online stores must be usable by people with disabilities too. Microenterprises are exempt.

If one quote is much cheaper than the others, check whether these things are in it.

## Five questions before you sign

1. Who enters the products, and how are prices and stock updated after launch?
2. What happens to an order after “Order”: shipping label, invoice, email to the customer, automatic or by hand?
3. In whose name are the domain, the hosting and the accounts with the courier and the payment provider?
4. Does the price include the terms and conditions, the withdrawal button and the declaration under Ordinance N-18?
5. What will the store cost in its first year, with hosting, maintenance and advertising?

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does a small online store cost?

Usually between €1,300 and €2,500 excl. VAT, if there are up to a few hundred products and they do not come from another system.

### How much does an online store connected to a warehouse or accounting system cost?

Between €6,000 and €10,000 and up. The price depends on the system the store connects to and on what has to move across: stock, prices, orders, invoices.

### Which is cheaper — Shopify or a store of your own?

Shopify, at the start. After the first year it depends on the monthly fees and the apps. If the products come from another system or prices differ from customer to customer, a store of your own usually works out cheaper.

### How long does it take to build?

Longer than a website. It depends most on when the products, the photos and the copy are ready.

### How much does online store maintenance cost?

On the market, between €50 and €250 a month. With us it starts at €100 a month, with no minimum term.
